I arrived in Florida, West Palm Beach airport on March 16, 2017. The trip was made especially for a court hearing re: child support. After two years of living in a GA safe house, YWCA and with a friend, I found that accepting help from others teaches us the best lessons and with that comes learning. As a teacher, I have studied many times. I attended a public elementary school, a small baptist high school, a large teacher's school in the State of New York SUNY system and later studied at University of South Florida in Tampa where I traveled abroad my last month to Germany, Holland and England. These experiences molded and shaped me into who I am today.
There is another miracle to who I am and that's an earth angel. When I was a new home owner in St. Pete, many wonderful people came into my life who needed me. One friend had a fire in her apartment and had to find refuge. Another mom of my closest friend needed a bed and breakfast style home and then later, my ex husband entered. The biggest miracle of all came when I followed and answered prayers that were mine to answer. Including, giving birth to a beautiful baby boy named Forrest nine and one half years ago.
These miracles of life and death that happen to us happen because we have prayers for us and we have prayers of our own. Each time I think of my beautiful baby boy, I am so grateful that he has chosen me and that God gave me the opportunity to be a mom to him. I am so grateful that God gave him life. John 10:10
Reflecting back on my first week returning to Florida, I instantly prioritized my physical health and joined the closest gym to my hotel. Soon after, I discovered Christ Fellowship. These two core needs which I have are not necessarily more important than any other needs I have but they are essential. Spiritual and physical strength and well-being.
You may have heard the saying that we are spiritual beings (souls) having a physical experience (on earth) so then wouldn't it make sense that the very last thing that you would ever do to a family, especially a mother and child is to allow them to be forced, harassed or otherwise out of their home to the trail of tears.
Today, I am reminded of the CURE hospitals and how they appear to be different from other hospitals in that they are openly praying for their patients. Not to say that other hospitals are not praying for their patients, but when you visit this video or others, as I did when I learned about CURE hospitals in GA, I thought to myself, why on earth, would any state government, department of revenue, Medicaid, police department or sheriff knowingly and willingly subject a family to the abuse system in Florida when in fact, we have choices. Any child, like my son, who has a ruptured appendix and is court ordered into a child neglect situation for four plus years, has choices. As his mom, I choose to make a difference in the life of these children, beginning with mine. I hope you enjoy these videos and I hope that Floridians take a stand against terrorism in the justice system. These children are proof that they are WORTH it, but how would you even know? unless somebody showed you so.
Making the most of our life on earth includes surrounding ourselves with positive energy, positive relationships, places and when we are striving to maintain at our best, that's often when our "enemies" will try to destroy us. John 10:10
